Councilmember Ken Yeager Endorses Clark Williams for City Council
September 18, 2006 — Willow Glen, CA — Ken Yeager, the popular San
Jose City Councilmember representing District 6, today endorsed Clark
Williams, Vice President of the North Willow Glen Neighborhood
Association, to replace him on the San Jose City Council.
Councilman Yeager highlighted Clark’s service to the neighborhoods and
his deep involvement in the community as the top reasons for his
endorsement.
“After meeting with the candidates for District 6, I am enthusiastically
endorsing Clark Williams,” said Councilmember Ken Yeager. “He has the
best grasp of the issues facing the District and the City. In addition, he
will be a strong advocate for protecting our neighborhoods against poorly
planned infill developments.”
“Ken has been a tremendous advocate for our neighborhoods and I have
big shoes to fill,” said Clark Williams. “I am proud to have earned his
endorsement and I appreciate his confidence in my abilities to continue
serving the residents of District 6,” Williams continued.
Running with Ken Yeager’s mantle of support, Clark Williams assuredly
becomes the front runner in the race to succeed Yeager on the City
Council. Yeager will ascend to the County Board of Supervisors in
January after winning the Supervisor’s seat outright against two
formidable opponents in the past June election.
Councilmember Yeager joins a growing list of elected officials,
neighborhood leaders and organizations supporting Clark Williams for
San Jose City Council District 6, including; the League of Conservation
Voters, the Santa Clara County Democratic Party, San Jose City
Councilmembers Madison Nguyen and Forrest Williams, Santa Clara
County Assessor Larry Stone, State Assemblymembers Sally Lieber and
John Laird and more than ten different leaders of District Six
neighborhood associations.
Clark, his partner James Moore and their 3-year-old daughter, Caroline,
live in the Willow Glen neighborhood of San Jose. Election Day is
Tuesday, November 7.
