San Jose Needs More WiFi Spots
San Jose Mercury News
Oct. 28, 2005
I applaud the San Jose City Council’s decision to add a few more hot spots for free wireless service in downtown San Jose. However, by not approving a WiFi expansion plan that would cover the entire city, San Jose has missed an important opportunity to promote technology that could lend to our city’s reputation as the technology capital of the nation.
If not for the millions of taxpayer dollars we’ve spent to pay for several investigations of city officials and for the ongoing cleanup of Watson Park, we just might have had enough funds to pay for a WiFi expansion plan that would have benefited all of our city residents.
