Let's Not Be Rash on Grand-Jury Report

While Mayor Ron Gonzales and some San Jose City Council members may disagree with the report by the Santa Clara County civil grand jury, I am uncomfortable with any attacks against the volunteer grand jurors who carefully investigated and prepared the controversial report.

Though it may take months to sort through all the allegations, the real disappointment is the failure of responsible public discourse worthy of the nation's 11th-largest city. My advice to Mayor Gonzales and other city leaders is to carefully answer the grand jury's allegations in a thoughtful and deliberative manner and trust that city residents will positively judge his mayoralty in its entirety.
